Katie is up...
Katie is up for the JRGS Wife-of-the-Year Award for buying a thrilling MEAT BULL hunt for her husband Lance! Lance and I foiled our first sneak causing the buffalo to stampede away. But our second attempt at a MEAT BULL bison provided a shot at 180 yards for Lance. He put three 375 H&H bullets right on the money for a nice clean kill.
The thrills are many when hunting bison on the prairie. Our phones showed we hiked 2.9 miles to seal the deal on this MEAT BULL. We hunt big country!
Ooolllldddd Bull!
This is a spectacular TROPHY BULL. And a perfect example of how age is not the only contributing factor to the difference between a TROPHY BULL and a SUPER TROPHY BULL. He had a LOT of gray hair and a majestic head.
"I'm 56. If I live to be a hundred, I’m never going to be six feet tall." That's part of the equation and one of the tricks my competitors use to try to get your business away from me. It is foolish to fall for it.
Rob and his son, Austin, came to JRGS because they knew I'm the premier bison hunting destination. We enjoyed a brisk day on the prairie with the actual temp starting out of -4 F and a wind chill of -19. Three excellent shots from only 50 yards put this beast down for the pics. Great job guys.
Trophy Bulls are tough.
We snuck a mile across the prairie to get into position to take the first shot. After being pinned down for 15 minutes in tall grass, we slunk over a hill for the final few yards to see this TROPHY BULL following another bull buffalo. Dan got his chance and opened fire. After approximately 8 shots, he was down for keeps. Bring enough ammo if you are going to hunt big bulls on big country.
"It's going to be impossible to tell my friends what happened and expect them to believe it! There isn't one of them that’s going to believe how tough these animals are. I was one of them, without seeing it for myself, I would have never believed how much lead they can take. Use me as a reference. I'll be glad to tell anybody about the toughness of a TROPHY BULL."
