Pheasant numbers are only a fraction of what they used to be. More and more hunters are choosing prairie dog hunting for their big trip. Pheasant hunters need high-dollar licenses and are restricted to only three birds per day…(fun, but kinda minimal). Prairie dog hunters enjoy unlimited kills and typically shoot hundreds of rounds per person per day! Who do you think has more fun? The answer is a no-brainer…prairie dog hunting offers fantastic shooting opportunities to hunters that like to shoot. JRGS is the premier prairie dog hunting destination in the world. Contact me this weekend for the list of ALL of my clients from last year and to get all of the details.
Another Article Published
This one is in the Capital Journal. Several publications print my articles because they are chocked full of information gleaned from hundreds of days/year guiding hunters on the prairie and tundra. This article addressed the surge of hunters who’ve discovered the thrill of hunting bison the right way, away from government parks and petting ranches where hunters drive out and shoot buffalo that step out of the way of their side-by-side.
Contrarily, we hunt buffalo on big country, where they can and sometimes do go miles before or after the first shot rings out. Contact me for the ultimate bison hunting experience. It is a thrill of a lifetime. Check out the article…contact me if you can’t find it on the net, I’ll send it to you.
SUPER TROPHY BULL
A Super Trophy Bull is the biggest-nastiest beast on the prairie. They will test the hunter. Luke and his grandfather snickered when I told them he’d have to shoot this dude several times to kill it. Why wouldn’t they, everything they’ve shot up to this point in their hunting legacy has only took 1-2 shots. We snuck in close, 70 yards. Luke put seven special 30-06 bullets in the sweet spot to finally drop it. We later learned that only three or four penetrated into the vitals. BIG bulls are tough. Penetration is paramount. Ballistics charts are only estimates, I can rattle off story after story of the “perfect ammo” failing on BIG bison on big country. Congrats on an incredibly huge beast Luke.
